Roberto Joaquín Santillán Salgado Doctor Santillán currently
holds the position of Director of the Master of Science in Finance Program at
EGADE-ITESM, Monterrey Campus. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics at
the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where he graduated
with an Honor Mention. Later, he obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration
at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, an MBA degree at the Instituto
Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (TEC), and finally his
Ph.D. in Business Administration with a post-doctoral specialization in Finance
at TEC-University of Texas at Austin. His areas of interest include: International
Finance, Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions.
- Doctor
Santillán initiated his academic career as a Full Time Researcher at El
Colegio de México in 1981. He has been a Visiting Professor at: Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Chile, University of Texas at Austin, Tulane University,
University of San Diego; Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
and Instituto Politécnico Nacional (México). Since 1990 he joined
the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, where
he has taught courses in Economics and Finance. Dr. Santillán maintains
an active participation at international conferences and executive education courses.
- He
has offered courses and conferences in La Paz, Bolivia; Trujillo, Perú;
San Pedro Sula, Honduras; París, France; Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, and Tokio,
Japan, and Casablanca, Morocco, among other places. His research work in the fields
of Banking and Strategic Alliances, of Firms has been included in highly recognized
publications, like the Journal of World Business . He also has worked as consultant
for the World Bank, Fondo de Inversión Veracruz (FIVER), the State Government
of Veracruz, the State Government of Tlaxcala, Veracruzana and VITRO, S. A. He
is currently an active member of the Business Association for Latin American Studies
and the International Society for Intercommunication of New Ideas.Note:
